Expansion of Community Health Centers
The Foundation partnered with five other local funders to help Detroit area Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) compete for expansion grants available from the federal government as a result of the Health Care Reform Act. The FQHC Council New Access Point (NAP) Report prepared for the Detroit Area FQHC Council identifies priority areas in Wayne County with primary care deficits. The expansion grant could provide access to physical and mental health care to approximately 100,000 residents who do not have a medical home in these underserved areas.
